Thank you... now, it would be better if I would concentrate on making them better :)

Man, every time I'm on this site, I admire it's layout. I particularly like the small screenshot row of roguelikes at the top. I wish I'd written that many! :D

Haha :D"Once in a blue moon" would be an awesome title for an indiegaming brand. One way or another, I'm really looking forward to anything you do for us.

Yeah, indeed :)The development cycle will go back to the roguelikes soon, as it does once each 100 year... once each 3 months :P

It sure has got quiet around here lately :(

Yeah, I have decided not to start new projects based on stablished brands, unless the project takes less than fourteen days, and even so it will be thought out severely. I am concentrating my efforts on stuff I own.

IANAL, but attaching donations specifically to the development of open source, non-trademarked works and generic tilesets would probably be safer than a generic "Donations will support the development of these games" statement. Though, my familiarity of the relevant laws is based only on US law, so YMMV.

PS2: Would you consider DrashRL a prototype? I consider it my most polished product (even over CastlevaniaRL, although much more work has gone into both)

@Burzmali: I agree; the "themed" roguelikes are by far a blessing and a curse, they constrain the freedom (not that I intend to become millionary with them, but developing them costs money)@AmnEn: I think that the resource I need the most is not determination, but rather TIME! :) That scarce resource... I have a heavy work agenda, and the little I do is made, actually, using my "determination" :P I admit I have spred my willpower into too many projects... knowing that, I have decided to release my next roguelike projects as open source, hoping we can form a nice devteam for this fancy and time consuming hobby. Thanks for your words though, they are taken in the best of spirits. PS: And I think expedition can grow real nice with some contribution from you people :)

No offense but Dwarf Fortress is an entirely different beast. It's continually developed with a lot of content. And that's the key, continual development on one game. Slash tends to create new games, semi abandoning the games before that. He could create really wonderful games, the talent is there, but unless he gets the determination to stick with one game, they'll remain prototypes. Nice prototypes but still just prototypes. And I really love those prototypes but I can't help but wonder how much more any of those could be with determination. This is not meant as a flame, I have a lot of respect for you Slash. That's just my observation over the years (has it really been that long already :D) View all posts (419) Poll
